Dear Seniors,
I am M.Com graduate, recently completed Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management. I am currently working with a manufacturing company in Pune for the past 5.5 years in Payroll only. I want to know what I can learn more / or what courses would enable me to get more exposure in HR.
Also I want to know whether learning a foreign language will help or should I learn distance MBA course. Please guide

MBA will always be a good choice, however, all depends on your budget to improve your own skills. There is a cost attached to everything. First decide your budget.

Dear Preeti,
Since you did M.Com., it is better pursue your own basic line, in that case go for MBA (Fin.). Along with it ACS and LLB. would add to your marketability. On the other hand, Your pay roll exp. will really help in HR duties. If you wish to change over to HR then also do MBA(HR) and also PG Dip.SW and LLB./Dip.LL which is available on Corres.
All the best.

but is learning a foreign language essential in HR? I am new in HR and want to make a decision whether to further my education in HR or in Environmental science. I have a first degree in environmental science but because of poor graduate employment in my country, i have been hired in a microfinance company as an administrative assistant. it's a good job and a promising company except some of the people in it are so annoying sometimes.

Preeti,
In my view you can do below mentioned couces.
Diploma in Industrial Psycology.
Diploma or Masters in Labour Law & Labour Welfare { This will improvce your Knowledge of Labour Law } & L.L.B.
Preeti in my view H.R. is art of Handelling Manpower , so we should read variety of Books related to Human Behaviour , to understand them , just passing a Degree may not Help Completely.
If Possible ask your Boss, to involve you in others works of your department so that you can have exprience of those area.
