Dear all,
This is Bindu and i just recently joined one Project Management company as HR Manager . We are having a plan to apply for the ISO certification . Pls guide me on this a nd if you know some consultants and firms who can give full support on this that should be fine . Pls let me know .
Since there is no pilicies and procedures previously practised how are we going to start and is it ok if we start something after ISO Certification or they will guide on that also . If you are having some commnts pls let me know .

Hi Bindu,
Basically ISO Certification is an audit of the processes laid down in a compnay. They will not help you in defining the proceeses. What I can suggest is to call a meeting of all your Department Managers, ask them to list down the major processes inviolved in the functioning of their Departments. For example in HR, these processes could be Recruitment Processes,Appriasal processes, Training processes etc, For Accounts, it could be payment porcess, Salary process etc. Once these processes are in place, the auditors will check whether these processes are being followed or not. For thispurpose they will depend on the documentary proof.
In short I will define it as " Write what you do, and do what is written"
Please let me know your location, so that I could help you in getting in touch with suitable consultants.
