thankyou for such a support. 1 more thing i would like to ask. Pls tell me what should be done for late comings and how many late comings should be allowed. at what time 1/2 day should be marked and what action should be taken if an employee always comes late.

There is no hard and fast rule for late coming.

To summarise what we did -

a) 15 minutes grace given for coming only.

b) Then there is a short leave - upto two hours in the morning and evening.

c) Two short leaves make a half day CL.

d) You could include that ---- number of late comings equals one short leave.

e) Normally a half day is upto lunch or after lunch. The employee may inclde the lunch break as part of the half day leave.

In this country (Egypt) there is a legal provision to deduct salary if a person is late.

If an employee is perpetually late, that is say comes in after the grace period, then

a) Call the empoyee for counselling. If you start by asking why the employee why s/he is late you will get a whole lot of excuses. So start by explaining to the employee as to how his/her late coming affects the functioning of his/her team, the loss etc. Then ask the reason and go by genuinity of the reason.

b) Do make it a point to have the record of the employee with you before you start.

c) If after one or two counselling sessions the employee does not pay heed, issue a written warning.

d) If the company has included in the Standing Orders and Policy, then after a particular number of late comings a penal deduction could also be imposed. Do ensure that such notice is displayed prominently and better still, get everyone to sign a copy of such order and keep the original in safe custody.

e) You are within your rights to even take leagl action against the employee by sending a legal notice/show casue notice asking why disciplinary action should not be initiated aginst the him/her for coming late consistently. Please ensure that the record is correct and up to date.

ELs and Cls cannot be clubbed. Casual Leave will be for casual nature and normally it will be taken for half day or one full day. this leave can be applied in one day adance or on the same day.
In case of EL minimum three days to be applied and in the entire calender year it can be avalied maximum for three times. This leave has to be applied atleast one week before.
please note that CL can not be clubbed with any type of leave
