Identify each manager’s comments about employees according to the Theory X and Theory Y as given below:
1.‘Be careful with it now because I will not bear this messy work like you did the last time”. ________________ (My answer is Theory X)
2.“Thanks, I am confident you will do a good job”. _____________ (My answer is Theory Y)
3.“Select the format you require for this assignment and get it to me for checking when you finish it”. ____________ (My answer is Theory Y)
4.“I will be checking up on you to make sure the job get done successfully on

5.“I know you think it’s a lousy job, but someone has to do it then why not you get it done”. ______________(My answer is Theory Y)

You are on the right lines; please see douglas mcgregor's motivational theory x theory y and use key words from the list to back your claim and also kindly quote the source, if required.

Hi Simhan,
Thanks for that link. I had not heard about the XY Theory before.
Have worked for so many Theory X managers during my working life!! Now I know why I had such a bad time with them! If only we could banish them off the face of the earth.

Thank you John for accessing the link suggested; I am rather surprised to note that you had not come across that before.
I take this opportunity to appeal to other members to explore the links at the left sidebar of that site. The links contain a lot of useful information about other motivational theories as well as on Personality, Leadership, Training, Learning and Teaching, etc.
Have a lovely weekend.
