sandeep,if there is 3 shift then,1shift guard next month will be in 3rd,2shift guard next month will be 1st shift and 3rd shift guard will come in 2nd shift.

Rotation is done not monthly. Actually rotation should be done weekly. When you have 3 shifts say a shift, b shift, c shift.
Then shift change is done. C shift goes to b shift, b to a and a to c shift. Like wise change goes on.

Well Let me tell u that guards rotation depends on the shift pattern, i.e., whether u r following 3 shifts system or 2 shifts system......if there is 3 shifts systems than u can make a roster providing everyone a weekly off and if it is in 2 shifts system that the rotation can be made on every 15 days.

I appreciate Mr Shaikh Abedeen's effort. However, the example is not complete as the duties for the reliever is not correctly accounted for.
Mr. Ravichandran D 9600346646, had rectified that particular shortcoming by his wonderful example which shows the total number of differents shifts. This is likely to ensue that inadvetant errors do not crop up while drawing up the duty chart.
I suggest all to use Mr Ravichandran's example.

I made a small modification to Mr. Ravichandran's example by adding a line to indicate the actual duties performed.
This is likely to be very useful for calculating the wages at the end of the month as more often than not changes are necessitated due to some exigencies or other.
Conditional Formating is done for easy comprehension.
