Dear Seniors,
I have gone for an HR Interview, and during the process the employer asked me to sign a bond of two years term with security deposit. And they asked me to submit with them for two years the Original Certificates of my Educational Qualifications, starting from SSC to Post Graduation. So is it safe and acceptable from HR point of view.
Kindly help me out to decide on this.

Hello Birabara,
Something's not right here.
Asking for BOTH--a Security Deposit AND Certificates--don't jell [not that any of the options are right--professional companies don't take any deposit or certificates--just a Bond, but they have a regular Legal dept to handle any legal issues--if they arise when an employee jumps the Bond].
Suggest check out about the company before making a decision.
All the Best.

Hi Birabara,
If employer is asking to deposit your qualification certificates or asking to surrender two month's in hand salary as a security then it is a self styled Bond. Employer cant implement or justify it legally as bonded labor act has been abolished.

Dear Birabara,
Nothing is right with this company. It is unethical and against our fundamental rights of practicing any profession as per our choice. Nothing seems to me OK with this Company and as a HR Person never encourage such thing in the organisation. Best of luck.

It may be a fake company. Ask the employer to provide you the last 3 yrs balance sheets. TS has rightly suggested. Pon
