Gm moved employee to unrelated department
Dear all i just want to clarify with you all one of my colleague joined my company as a production manager after one and half years he was moved to another department in the same organization but my colleague is not to go that department but our company general manager saying he must go otherwise he can not work herebut not directly my friend was veryupset with gm decision and explained with hr manager about his difficulties but the hr chose not to ask gm and he also not taking any action. he is very difficult situation but his company appointment order saying we will rotate personnel in various department to enable them equip with multi skill but this time the gm sent to engineering department but my colleague is chemistry student not even related with his basic field. the gm refused to talk anything so please guide us what shall we do to get back the same position and how to convince with gm bout his difficulties regards sarwan
Is the hr manager managing the human resource?
Hi i find in organizations the finance manager is managing the finance; some of the departments may buy or sell or do transactions invlolving money but ultimately it is the finance manager who is handling the finance. similarly the marketing manager is directly doing the marketing activities and therefore he is managing the market for his company. the projects manager is executing the projects; so he with his department is managing all the business projects of the company. or if you take the case of a production manager he is certainly handling the production and therefore when you call him as production manager it sounds logical. but you take the case of the human resource manager. the human resource of the company is not under his management. it is all with other managers of the company the production guys are under the production manager the sales guys under the sales manager the it guys under the it manager and so on. the hr manager is having only the hr team guys under him. then how do you call him the 'human resource manager'? if you say he is only recruiting then i would say recruitment is not human resource management because during recruitment the human resource does not belong to the company and once recruited the people are handed over to other departments for being managed by respective managers. if you say the hr manager is only finally terminating then termination is not hr management. once terminated the employee is not with the company any more. if you say the hr manager is managing the performance of all the employees it is not true because it is the concerned department manager who is managing the performance of his department employees. hr manager at the best can give a performance management system to the company. if you analyse like this you will find that the hr manager is the only manager in the company who is not managing the human resource of the company. then there are two questions to ask 1. is the hr manager managing the human resource? or 2. should he be designated as manager hrrm i.e. manager hr related management? please tell me friends. jeeva.

Stop into the job of and tell them how to do job than you they know how to do hr departments can be needlessly bureaucratic obstructionist stuck in the "comfort zone" of filling out forms and explaining company benefits and too closely aligned with the interests of management yet lacking the business knowledge to be effective strategic partners. dealing with these types of hr departments "is like going to the dentist" says david sirota hr is a staff department not a line department. the true hr professional is supposed to be a consultant to the organizations managers. that means the managers are the customers of hr. for example if a manager has a problem with turnover in his or her department then that manager needs to contact hr for a consultation. a representative from hr would then work with the manager of that department to come up with a solution. it is the manager of that department that is to implement the solution not the hr professional. furthermore the hr professional should never act as the employees manager and tell the employees what to do. that is giving hr the lack of respect and professionalism that many hr professionals are seeking. unnecessarily dont think you r employee engagement activities are always liked by employees most view the of hr as time coz they already are burdened with lots of work and the hr pokes in between with some crap thing... then who is going to compensate for the useless time wasted in the hr s employee engagement and other crap activites.
