Hi to all,
I have to conduct a 2 days training program to software engineers & team leaders. The topic would be on leadership skills for 6 to 8 hours a day, I would really appreciate if you all could give some suggestions on how to go about this program. I also need to know how should i make a session plan for this training & if i could get some ppts for the same. It'll be a great relief for me if i could get the response soon as the training would immense shortly.
Thanks

Hi Maanu,
My first suggestion, don't make your sessions any longer than 7 hours per day (including lunch and 2 x 15mins breaks). 8 hours is too long - especially for a leadership program.
As for the structure and content, consider using Steven Covey's 'INSIDE-OUT' approach as espoused in the '7 Habits of Highly Effective People'. There are a lot of practical exercises that go with it in a workbook titled 'The 8th Habit Personal Workbook'.
Or, as an alternative, you can consider outsourcing the program to us. See how you go and let's talk.
Take care!

Hi Gaurav,
Thanks a ton for the prompt reply, i appreciate it. I'll definitely go through the workbook you have mentioned. The alternative doesn't sound like a bad idea however the commercials are not so lucrative for this training to cherish both of us together. Nevertheless there is always a next time. Thanks again though.

there are instruments that determine leadership style of an individual. ans behaviour science practioner will have them . reputed training institutes do have them. I also try to fetch one and send . by making people realise through these instruments waht is their leadership style and whether it suits their work environment, i think the learing would be more acceptable . all the best

hello,
Though im just a student of first semester, i would suggest that start with a presentation that sets the tempo of the workshop.
make them enthusiastic.
exemplify it with small leadership anecdotes of great people, it will generate the interest and inspire them.
regards.
