Hello Sir / Ma'am,
If in any month because of some reason we got late in payment and employees are making it a big issue and denied to enter in the premises. After discussion held they agreed to work but even they are not performing their duty normally. They are misbehaving, not achieving daily target, involving other employees also to not to complete the target. As my organization is a BPO (back end process) and they tried to make union.
What should I do in this condition with those employees.

Ensure timely payment disbursement. If you allow in making default in monthly payment on regular basis, the morale will go down and that may be the cause for total discontentment. Pon

Hello Shobhana
Try to resolve that by telling them about some problems facing company. As example, if an employee join in any organization then he/she would be a part as like of family members. same as sometimes if family is facing some problems then they manage so why not with their company also. As every month if the company is paying salary to employees timely & if problem arises then they can manage.

Hi Shobhana,

I would like to highlight your words "If in any month...", what do you mean by this term. How many days of delay you expected or expecting. Many companies follow a certain cutoff date for closing the attendance and preparing the salaries. As you are aware, salaries wont be disbursed in a single day without checking and closing the attendance for all employees. That says, the delay was expected and have been planned in advance for this delay.

In such cases, the finance department or HR should circulate an internal memo to all employees through possible ways about this delay on salaries disbursement. However, if you are still unaware of the date of disbursement, take a tentative date from finance department and give the tentative date to employees.

Now, coming to your point:

As you are aware, every individual plans their financial budget in advance of the pay day; and when they get to know that salary is going to be delayed, you can understand their frustration towards their personal commitments. This is human tendancy, especially in Indian social life, such situations cause people to mental stress and lead to lack of concentration. So, this behaviour is expected from them.

Hence, I agree with the suggestion given by our member SUSHMITA that you should organize a meeting with both parties. Giving fake excuses i.e. company is going thru problems, we are in trouble, etc will not work. However as she mentioned, the result of the meeting should be in motivated, well-explained, and convinced manner.

In future, I would recommend you to circulate an early notice if you foresee such delays.
