Hi Dilum,
Watever u learn theoretically in ur class room in someone's practical view which guides u to understand abt HRM, but Practically someone who can train u on that basis r u get an opportunity to know practically work on it gives more knowledge abt it. It's not an one word answer where u can understand r know abt it... u need a training for that were corporate people can train u up on that part if u r playing a HR role in a firm. But there is no gaps such thing wat u learnt in class and what viewed in organiztion.

in class rooms we get to know the theoretical knowledge about the various domains where as in practicality when you get an industrial exposure you get to know the finest detail involved in various functions of HR. In class rooms we get to know that things takes place in a particular manner but when you actually do it u realize k there are lot more things which are not written in any of the books. However there are no major gaps.

Well its good to know before you go for practice. let me inform you about the same is whatever we learn as a theory of HRM and actual practice in organisation has always little difference.
Difference in the sense all things are carried out in industrial organisation are totally as per the rules, regulations, policies and Procedures of that particular organisation.
No matter our theoretical knowledge is that much required to have as one required electricity to run the computer.
thus, our learning in colleges is supportive function to understand and implement those policies and procedures.
All the best for your future..
