Dear Babu Singh.
Safety is all the necessary precaution & prevention which we take in all activities from the time we get up from the bed & start brushing the teeth till we get into bed to sleep again, to prevent ourself & others from injury or ill health or loss or damage of properties.
Seems simple but complex as it is involved with all activies we or others perfoem.Give a thought.

Dear Pros,
Safety is an art and science which keeps us free from harm and losses.
To be safe we have to recognize the hazards around us and in our activity and evaluate the risk potential. If the risk could not be tolerated apply a control measures (any one or combination of Engineering, Systemic or Human way) to bring down the risk to an accepted level.
There is no substance/place in this universe is absolutely safe. The air we breath may be unsafe to us when is in high temperature, pressure, velocity or contaminated. The same way the water which is vital for us may be unsafe when it is hot, or with high pressure, can damage any thing when comes as flood.
Any substance or place may become unsafe when the condition changes. Predict the possible hazardous substance/situation which may affect/harm us in advance, realize the consequence if consequence is unacceptable exercise the control measures.
Regards,
Partha

Dear Babu Singh,
Welcome in the team. I found 02 definitions, which may clear you the meaning of "SAFETY".
1. Safety is the state of being "safe" (from French sauf), the condition of being protected against physical, social, spiritual, financial, political, emotional, occupational, psychological, educational or other types or consequences of failure, damage, error, accidents, harm or any other event which could be considered non-desirable. Safety can also be defined to be the control of recognized hazards to achieve an acceptable level of risk. This can take the form of being protected from the event or from exposure to something that causes health or economical losses. It can include protection of people or of possessions.
2. Relative freedom from danger, risk, or threat of harm, injury, or loss to personnel and/or property, whether caused deliberately or by accident.
