Hi,
Offer letter is a letter "offering the job" to the candidate with the position, ctc and the agreed date of joining mentioned in it. The appointment letter is given only when the candidate produces the required certificates and documents asked for in the offer letter.
The candidate may or may not join after taking the offer letter.
Hope this clarifies
best wishes

Aruna:
Gautami has given a straight point and that is 100% true but all the companies will not give the Offer and Appointment letter; some organizations follow this and some wont
Thanks

OFFER LETTER : GIVEN AFTER CANDIDATE IS SELECTED AND ,, BEFORE JOINING ,,,,,
APPOINTMENT LETTER: AFTER RECEIVING OFFER LETTER<, AND AFTER JOINING ,,, IN ABT 2 DAYS - 1 MONTH depends on company to company...
CANDIDATE::: RECEIVES OFFER LETTER BUT DOES NOT JOIN<,, THEN HE DOES NOT RECEIVE APPOINTMENT LETTER....
HOPE THATS ENOUGH
