Dear Ranjeet,
It depends upon the company policy some prefer full-time MBA in HR while some company prefer experience as their criteria for selection of candidates. It all depends upon how your interview has gone. But the weightage of full-time MBA is more than Part-time MBA.

The qualification is nothing to do with the job one is handling. I know a BA graduate holding as high as Vice President post in a particular group of company. And he was a mentor and philosopher for his subordinates (with MSW or such qualification) who were in the rank of GM, DGM, Factory Head, etc. in his own company and group comapanies. No decision with respect to Personnel / IR / HR is taken in any of the group companies without consulting him. This shows the command and proficiency he attained in his area of operation. Company retained him even after his retirement till such time of his death at the age 73.

Most of the MBAs are just book worms and not having exposure in technical aspects of IR/HR. In many such cases, the MBA (HR)s are not even able to continuosly speak in English. These boys do not even realize that they lack the fundamental skills.

In my opnion whatever job you do - it is not the HR job or accounts job for that matter - learn in and out of the process thoroughly. That will fetch you the reward without being asked for.

if your company rules permit you can avail study leave and pursue pg full time course in HR in any recognized university. If your company sponsors that is the best option.otherwise you have to do correspondence course which in fact does not carry much weight
