I think a Employee and employer will be more happy if they settle the employee PF on time, Now a days its very difficult to get the PF claim from Govt, you are talking about the refund. Personally my provident fund is struck in EPF Office Bandra from past 3 yrs... not yet settled. even applying 4 times... Any suggestion to get it are welcome.

In 2005 - 06, I served in a company of 10 months and was subscribing for EPF. On leaving, I applied for complete withdrawal for 10 months and got a cheque from the EPFO 6 months later (well into the next financial year). The reason for the delay (as quoted by the PF authorities) was that the interest for 2005-06 was not decided by the Board.

Refer to the discussion which has the following:
Personally my provident fund is struck in EPF Office Bandra from past 3 yrs... not yet settled. even applying 4 times... Any suggestion to get it are welcome.

You must ensure the following:
1. Your form for withdrawal is correctly filled with your PF Account number.
2. Your employer has remitted the correct amount to the PF quoting the relevent account numbers.
3. An acknowledgement that the PF office has received your application.
4. If the above is done, please send a reminder to the PF Office and get a acknowledgment AGAIN.
3 years is too much to get to your PF money. Seek an appointment to the PF Commissioner and if these is in vain, file a RTI or approach the courts.

Dear Rajusiachen,
You are totally right, if any person submitted his PF withdrawl form to his organisation, he can claim his acknowledgement copy from his employer, to understand his PF status, afterwards he can follow up with PF department with this ack copy and ask for his PF amount and same time if he feels any difficulties then he need to contact with PF commissioner of the PF department.
Kindly confirm from your organisation for your PF status and at same time ask for acknowledgement copy or you can also check your PF status through online(If you know your PF Account no and establishment code).

provident fund can be claimed at any time after two months from resigning and before the expiry of 36 months or 3yrs..To process your PF it wil take a maximum period of 6 months. The government will give you interest @ 8% on the total amount of your provident fund..
