I am enclosing the weekly holidays act, 1942 & Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881 for your ready reference.
Normally the Holidays List will be given by the Government and the respective companies have their own option of declaring the holidays, after selecting the holidays of their own choice, the company will submit the copy of the Holiday list for the year to the Labour Commissioner Office. This list will have around 38 to 40 days out of which the company have to select as per their requirement from 8 days to 11 days and in Government it will be 21 days as National Holidays and Festival Holidays.
Further any emergency leave due to Strike, Bandh, Harthal, Death of National Leaders, Elections, Due to Natural Calamity, etc will be covered under Negotiable Instruments Act.

If you are having recognized union please take an approval from that Recognized union / majority of workers & submit the same to Factory Inspector / Director with reasons mentioned why do you want to change the weekly off.
This application should be sent to Factory Inspector before 15 days of such effective date

I have qurey regard weekly off i am working in pvt company there is all facility like leave,pf etc bt i can't get leave bcoz im in probation period last month i took leave from saturday to tuesday and sunday is weekly off so company is not giving me wage for sunday which is weekly off can i avail? Plz repy me soon

I want to know the ACT/Rules/Law for weekly off & Holidays & Half day. we have second saturday off & our employee wants every saturday or 2nd and 4th office in month.
if their is any policy pls suggest me.
