How much terminal compensation is expected for a General Manager of a manufacturing unit doing well and his contribution is well documented. The GM ahs already spent Rs.1,00,000/- on relocation, but management wants him to go to accommodate one of their relative.
I am working as Sr. Software Developer and six month before i retain in this company. Now i give resign on date 11 august 2011. I want to compensate, my notice period. In offer latter there is three months notice period. When i was retain here, my project manager and HR verbally promise to relive in two months. but now there are not agree and force me to serve three month notice period. future company will not going to wait for three months. any how i want to compensate, Please help me.

Here i pasted the present company resignation clause, as it is there in the company hand book.

"5.1 Resignation an Employee:
If an employee decides to voluntarily resign or retire from the services to
Sungrace and submits a application accordingly, then such a letter /notice
will have to be given to Sungrace at least 2 months in-advance by junior
employee and 3 months in-advance by a Senior employees or a Project
Leader or else will he/she will have to pay salary in lieu of the said notice
period (not including accrued vacation & leave days for the notice period).
The notice period, in special cases, may be reduced or increased at the sole
discretion of the management."

In my opinion, you have right to to leave without serving notice period and pay only basic salary as compensation. However, handing over of charge must be completed before leaving.
