Hello AVS,
We people always refer many things from foreign author books. But it is really a good attempt, to spread the information from our own book " THIRUKURAL".More over i personaly happy, because i am belong to his state ( TAMILNADU) & from the age 6 i started reading thirukural.
I am really blessed that i had a chance to read in its original version (TAMIL)
It is a very good effort to show our tradition & culture to this corporate world.
So thank you so much for you to share such a valuable information to this forum...............
Regards,
indhu.

It would have been better if the actual Kurals referred are also given in the write up. There are many footnote numbers in the write up. What do they denote?

This one is a lovely mail and you should read it….. A good one too……..I am sure you will like it.

A saint asked his disciples, 'Why do we shout in anger? Why do people shout at each other when they are upset?'

Disciples thought for a while, one of them said, 'Because we lose our calm, we shout for that.'

'But, why to shout when the other person is just next to you?' asked the saint. 'Isn't it possible to speak to him or her with a soft voice? Why do you shout at a person when you're angry?'
Disciples gave some other answers but none satisfied the saint.

Finally he explained,'When two people are angry at each other, their hearts distance a lot.. To cover that distance they must shout to be able to hear each other. The angrier they are, the stronger they will have to shout to hear each other through that great distance.'
Then the saint asked, 'What happens when two people fall in love? They don't shout at each other but talk softly, why? Because their hearts are very close. The distance between them is very small...'
The saint continued, 'When they love each other even more, what happens? They do not speak, only whisper and they get even closer to each other in their love. Finally they even need not whisper, they only look at each other and that's all. That is how close two people are when they love each other.'

MORAL: When you argue do not let your hearts get distant, do not say words that distance each other

When passions overtake senses, we do not recognize our voice raising. This should be remembered and used in day to day life. Writing and reading about things like this is OK but practicing the same is very difficult.Let our HRs (Who deal most of the times with Humans)practice these words of wisdom.Very timely advise.

Hi AVSJAI,
Nice posting, really I enjoyed it. But I have my opinion also to express :
When the situation is serious, keeping close heart and whispering/looking at each other silently will not work, there is a limit to everything, one has to shout to get the things done as there are callus people also or else, things will be out of control/command.
Happy Dewali.

Dear AVSJAI,
The quotation quoted by you at the end of your letter, if it were like this,
"Mind controls an average man, but
A Wise man controls the mind"
it would have been better is my feeling. Think over and decide.

Mind Set-A worthy Read

There was a man who worked for the railroad. One day as he went into the freezer compartment to do his routine work, the door accidentally closed and he found himself trapped in the compartment.
He shouted for help but no one heard him since it was past midnight. He tried to break down the door but he could not. As he lay in the freezer compartment, he began to feel colder, and colder. Then he began to feel weaker, and weaker, and he wrote on the wall of the compartment, "I am feeling colder, and colder; and I am getting weaker, and weaker. I am dying, and this may be my last words".
In the morning when the other workers opened up the compartment they found him dead. The sad twist to the above story is that the freezing apparatus in the compartment had broke down a few days earlier.
The poor worker did not know about the damaged freezing apparatus and in his mind the freezing apparatus was working perfectly. He felt cold, got weaker and literally willed himself to die.
Moral:Our sub-conscious mind can be cheated. The sub-conscious mind can only accept and act on information passed to it by the conscious mind. It has no capacity to reject or decline any instructions or information passed to it by the conscious mind. In the case of the poor worker, he consciously thought that he was getting colder, weaker and dying and the sub-conscious mind accepted the above instructions and affected his physical body. That was how he willed himself to die.

"It is only a mistake when you refuse to fix it, until then it is only an error."

But there is a real story of a Chinese worker in a factory who was trapped in a Freezer Room , who kept on running inside the room to keep himself warm throughout the night till the door was opened next day by the concerned staff of the company. It is the cool mindset that matters in a crisis situation.

Beautifully portrayed the power of sub-conscious mind, and the ones who know how to channelize it in the right direction, are the ones who can trick the worst situations one faces.

Hi!
In the same line there is another story. There were three persons walking along the hill side. It was getting dark and they slipped in a pit and fortunately got hold of a branch of tree. They were clinging the branch of the tree for the whole night thinking that they were hanging above the hill top. After the dawn, they realized there was only few inches between their legs and the ground floor.
Moral: Solution for problems is very closer to us. It is we who have to find where it is.

Hello Friends,
My greetings to you.
I believe a ‘visualized-thought’ gives more meaningful power to the ‘thought’ itself.
My attempt is to picturise the relevant words and make these thoughts easily conceivable.
See and enjoy the ‘Picture Thoughts of the Day’and pass it to your friends and family members.
Well, there are no new thoughts. There are only thoughts or ideas we have not become aware of!
Your feedback will be appreciated.
Have a great day.
Thanking you.
