Dear Himanshu,

As per the factories act, 1948, where in the clause of working hours described as follows:
For an adult, 8 hours in a day and
Overtime is maximum 2 hrs in a day and
total spread over maximum 11 hrs in the working premises.
By the way, an adult can work maximum 48 hrs normal and OT is 12 Hrs and totally 60 hrs can be allowed to work in a week.
Apart from that, 48 hrs of OT can be maximum allowed in a month and also only 50 hrs can be allowed for any three consequent months in a calender year. (Eg. May- July)
regards.

Hi,
For more than 48 hours in a week and 9 hours in a day will liable to be paid ot.
5 days 8 hour and 6th day 9 hour working time,
One can not argue 6th day is below 9 hours, hence ot can not be paid.
All 6 days it is coming 49 hours, hence for that one hour ot to be paid.
As like 4 days 8 hour 5 th day 7 hour and 6 th day 9 hour, all to gether may be only 48 hours in a week. Eventhough one hour for the 6th day ot to be paid.
Hence the rule more than 9 hour a day and 48 hours in a week, both to read out together to clearly understand the purpose of law.

Dear Mr. Boopathi,
50 hrs can be allowed for any three consequent months in a calender year. (Eg. May- July), that means each of any three month can be allowed for 50 hrs of over time, is that right?
