Hi Every One,
We want to have a medi claim policy for all our employees. We are planning to have this medi claim policy for the employee as well as his family members. Which one is better one? and what is the better practice, like paying premium by company or employee?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Srinivas..
Medical Health Insurance is a very good insurance benefit to provide to your senior employees or those who are not covered under ESI Act.
Under this scheme so many options are there.. Like you may have an Medical Insurance benefit of Rs. 100000 or more and not to the employee only but their families too.
The employee will get a Health card after been covered and they can use it to any of the covered Hospital without paying a single rupee.
This health card is been provided by so many different companies.. like Allianz Bajaj, ICICI, New India Insurance and so on..
Allianz Bajaj health card os rs. 1,00000 (One lakh) is available at a premium of rs. 1600 only..
It would be better if Company provide teh same and add that in their CTC structure..
Hope this information would help you to get information regarding the Insurance benefits.
Regards,
Amit Seth.

Yes,
Mediclaim is ne of the benefits which is really helpful and one good retention practice too. My thoughts are:
It would be good if for the employee, spouse and children the company pays it
If the need be to include parents , more advisable is to have a fixed amount given to employee against the receipt of the premium rather then paying your self, as when the company takes the respomsibility then accordinag to the hospitalization ( in the case of parents it will be more) the premium for the whole group is impacted. I hope I have made myself clear.
Cordially,

Hi Srinivas,
Answering your query
1. In a group health policy you can decide what benefits to go for within the framework of the policy.
2. The choices you make should depend on the employee population mix (married/unmarried, male/female) and who you wish to cover.
3. Typically the practice is to cover Empl, spouse and 2 kids. This premium is paid by the company.
4. If parents are covered, then the premium can be borne by the employee.
5. As far as the insurance companies are concerned, if a fair premium paid, then the risk can be placed with any insurer.
6. If you can give me a better understanding of your profile, I can help you for formulate the entire group health policy for your company.

it is better to paya the premium paid by the company for its employees.
it helps in retention of employees and also give some motivation and also helps in getting admissible tax expenses.
if the employee group is very small you can recover some part of amount for giving this benefit.
for queries regarding group medicalim you contact Devarajan who may guide you.
