Hello everyone,
First of all, I apologize if this is not the proper forum to post this question.
I work at a plant that manufactures tin cans for luncheon meat products. It is a smallish plant, with about 60 employees/workers total.
The bonuses for the employees and workers are currently all tied to production numbers; and we are planning to implement KPIs and eventually start rewarding employees based on their performance rather than the total production numbers.
So I'm looking for any guidelines on how to implement KPIs in a tin manufacturing plant, what numbers to look for, how to set up targets, etc.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hello Ben
Great question, and hope my answer makes sense to you. To the best of my knowledge the best mechanism for implementing KPI's is the Business Balanced score card. The business balanced score card by Norton Kaplan helps you to holistically measure key performance indicators of a company. With the BBSC focus is not just on the financial but also on marketing activities, customer retention and so forth. It is up to you to determine the scope. You can read further about the BBSC on What is the Balanced Scorecard?
