Is it okay to hide that maternity leave will be required soon by new employee?
Hi all this thread is about a query regarding maternity leave. one of my friend who is an it professional got a good job offer from a big mnc company while she was 3 months pregnant. she is now in a confused state whether to join that company or not. she can join asap as she is idle now. would there be any issues fromn the company side if she joins them hiding this and then later informs them that she would need to take leave after 5 months. please advice. regards rk

Maternity leave - legality of company providing unpaid leave only?
Dear all the company which i work in is a manufacturing company registered under the factories act. here they provide unpaid maternity leave. only the leaves that are entitled to the employee iepl slcl are given and the rest are considered as leave without pay. is this legally right? doesnt the maternity benefit s act say that maternity leave should be 12 weeks of paid leave? kindly resolve my query. regards nandita

Hi sr i have a querys related to maternity leave. pls reply keeping legal as well general hr practices in mind: 1. the salary company is liable to pay during maternity leave is of total salary or basic salary only? 2. how a company can assure that women will rejoin after maternity leave period is over and not resign. i mean is there is any way out that company can assure that women will return to work after the break and not continue. can we pay her maternity breaks dues after her rejoining the duty? i am asking this question because one of our employees went on maternity leave and she was suppos eto join back on 15 may but when she joined back she resigned the next day saying she is finding it difficult to manage and may go for longer break after getting relived from the company? pls give your comments on what company should do in this case as company has given her free 3 mth salary to cover maternity.
El/ sl leave eligibility during maternity lop
Hello please help me to clarify a query in maternity leave. suppose a women is having 3 month maternity leave and she extended her leave for 3 months which falls as lop what would be her normal leave eligibility for that lop period? ie will she eligible for earned leave/ casual leave/ sick leave for that period ? she joined the service after 6 months leave.please confirm. regards kala
Query regarding maternity benefit act
Hi i am planning to avail the maternity leave from 1 april 2017 but my hr team informed me that in my organization the maternity leave is only for four months even though according to maternity benefits act it should increase from 12 weeks to 26 weeks. what should i do for this???? pls help me out for this
