Hi All, please suggest alternative career options for Bpo people as i am fed up of shift duties and i am not getting good jobs in mnc or indian industry as they say bpo experience is not counted in industry. Should i go for SAP FIco course, is it of any use or suggest me some other course i have done bcom and have worked in bpo back office finance process. Thanks in advance.

Dear All fed up BPO employees,

Greetings for the day ahead!!!!

Being in BPO is a state of mind because it is only when you stay in that industry, you are going to climb the ladder and be somebody. I say , state of mind, because you are working in a different time zone, you need to condition your body and mind according to that but you were aware about this right at the start. So if you were not sure about your ability to condition yourself, why did you join in the first place! Before getting fed up, think about this once.

However, if you do get fed up working in shifts, and want to change the industry, you need to plan meticulously.Since, BPO employees are almost always short of advance degrees and in India degrees are the primary criteria for bagging any good job, you first need to acquire certification which will make you suitable for other industries. You have the power of soft skill, so you can always leverage that once you have the right certification or degree. BPO experience is not counted unless the job you are applying is customer service or telecalling sort of but if you are smart enough , you can tell recruiters that although you don't have exact experience but you do have industry exposure and you understand deadlines, targets etc.

Having said that, be smart while choosing right degree or certification for you. For ex. SAP Fico will not help much because you do not have the requisite functional experience. If you are a B.com , a certification in accounting from some good & acknowledged institute can help you migrate to other industry.

Hope it helps. Keep posted on this.

Regards

Hi Team,
I am a BA graduate and worked in MNC (bpo) for past 6 years as ( SME,Trainer)
I have worked as HR executive for 6 months
My concern:
a) which area in HR will be suitable for me?
b) What will be the career growth?
d) Please suggest team in HR apart from recruitment where my 6 years of experience is not wasted?
Kindly help me in solving my above mentioned queries.
Hope to get reply soon.
Dear all,

This is a problem faced by many in the BPO sector. Though it never easy to change industries or domains during a job jump, it is not really that difficult either. All you have to do is play on your strengths and find the right role in which you can leverage that.

Of course the start will be difficult. You will be new to the domain with little or no experience, but that is where finding the right role to play comes into picture. You will, at times, have to sacrifice on things like high salary, lucrative incentives, pick up and drop, food coupons... so on and so forth but the end result will always be more fruitful and believe me when I say, if you are worth it, the salary correction will happen.

What is your biggest strength then ? As a BPO veteran, your biggest strength lies in communication, written or spoken. Try to find avenues which you can explore in that space. Success will be yours.

I have been a part of BPO industry for years now.
Been working on SAP MM & FICO for years however only as an end user.
Cannot afford to do certification do not even have E2E implementation experience.
Just wanted to know if I enrol with an institute for E2E course would that do good or do I go for certification taking in a loan ?
I need a better work and good pay grade ASAP.
Hi All,
Even I am also facing same issue. I have 7+ yrs of exp in capital market KPO operations. I am currently working as SME in leading KPO in Pune. I had completed my MBA in general management & M.com. in Business administration with lean six sigma green belt certification. I have US B-1 visa also. Could you please advise which industry suitable for me for career change?
Thank you,
Prasad
