Respected Senior’s, I have a very small query regarding above said subject,Please give me the inform me the difference between salary appraisal and performance appraisal. Regards Sonia Batra

We must not confuse ourselves with Salary Appraisal and Performance Appraisal, both are distinct:

Let's clear with:

Appraisal: It's an assessment or estimation of the worth, value, or quality of a person or thing.

Performance Appraisal is assessment of your performance by an expert either within or outside of your organization. It can be Monthly, quarterly, Half Yearly or Yearly. It's basically a report card generated by your reporting boss or so appointed head. It will have grading or numbering system which will value your tenure in the organization.

Salary Appraisal may be directly or Indirectly linked with Increments in your CTC. It is totally based on your performance appraisal and regulate your presence in organization. It's done post performance appraisal in big organization as per policy but may vary in small organization in between also. Salary Appraisal are mostly caluclated by the value you have added to a department either you are in functional support or Actively on front end.
