Dear Saravana,
Please consider the following options :
  • Learn about the process.
  • Identify the outages and the causes to it.
  • Identify the potentials in your team members and their career paths.
  • Learn to interact with the client, shadow your bosses initially to learn the tricks of the trade.
  • Build your own guidebook to the escalations and how they have been managed.
  • Identify the bottlenecks in the process flow

Hello Saravana Kumar,
To add to what (Cite Contribution) mentioned, also focus on how YOU can jell with the team & how THE TEAM can jell with you.
After all, you are the Team Leader & any Lead position--whether it's in BPO or IT or Non-IT or cricket or even the Army--is as Good [or as Bad] as the 'Team'.
Rgds,

hi Saravana Kumar
first of all hearty congratulations for your new role
always remember, a TL is the person who is a bridge between the higher management and the associates/agents.
you will b the first person to feel the cold and heat of your associates/agents for all managenent decisions. ie you would be the interpreter of all management decisions to your team mates. tey r gonna take the management decisions as per the interpretation given by u. Hence always show the positive picture, take feedbacks, show growth prospects and coach your team mates well.
have a good raport with your team mates (especially for the BPO sector). give them respect ang get the same stuff back.
wishing u all the best
