Dear Seniors - Please check and advise.
"Zones in Maharashtra
The state has been classified in to groups A, B, C, D and D+ according to industrial development.
Group A Comprising the developed areas, viz. Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) and Pune Metropolitan Region (PMR).
Group B Comprising the areas where some development has taken place
Group C Comprising the areas, which are less developed than those at Group B
Group D Comprising the lesser-developed areas of the State not covered under Group A/ Group B/ Group C.

There are total 23 municipal corporations in Maharashtra (Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan-Dombivili, Ulashnagar, Nashik, Pune, PimpriChinchwad, Aurangabad, Nanded, Nagpur, Amravati, Akola, Solapur, Sangli-Miraj-Kupwad, Kholapur,Meera Bhainder, Jalgaon, Bhiwandi, Nijampur, Dhule, Ahemadnagar ) which has been categorised into 4 (A,B, C & D) by the state govt.
Dear Kamal, thanks for the information...but how do we know which of these cities come in which municipal corporations i.e. whether in "A", "B", "C" or "D"? Regards
Dea all,
Muncipal corporation,Muncipaltiy are two catergires.Futher they are sub divided in to A,B,C, D.This is based upon the population in the perticular city.Same is for muncipality-NAGAR PAISHAD.
Zone I & II is the area under Metro and Ohter city For eg.Pune
But the industry which falls under MIDC,Grampachayat ,nagar parishad are categorised under Zone III
Mangesh Wakodkar

Which municipal corporation will fall in which class is decided by the respective state govts. Generally it is based on the city population.
