Hello Rita Singh,
Like mkjobhunt suggested, go to your First Employer & show the Exp Letter you were issued & then get the REVISED Letter with the correct dates.
BUT PL DON'T DESTROY the one you already have. Since the copy of this wrong letter is already with the Govt organization, take both the old one & the New one with you to the Interview & submit BOTH the Originals with copies. If you submit ONLY the new, you will be accused of forgery. And if you allow the old Letter to be in their files without anything being said of the correct dates & Letter, you will face problems later--assuming you get finally selected & join.
I can think of only this way. But if the worst-case-scenario [where the Govt company rejects your candidature] becomes a reality, mentally be prepared for it too.
Rgds,

If you have no time to approach your previous employer, attend the interview and explain to them the error in the document.
