Dear Pari,
You have said that "I use videos, games, roleplays to make training sessions fun". Everybody does more or less same. Question is how you do it and when you do it and lastly does it appeal to the audience.
What you have mentioned are the tools of the training. But then what about the end result? Is the business performance increasing? Is the employee performance increasing? That you have not mentioned.
As long as you are able to attain the end result, you don't have to bother about techniques of the training.
Ok...

Dear Dinesh
The business has definetly had an impact because of the trainings imparted ,however what has been better can be made best.
The purpose of the post put is to become aware of new tools or techniques in training to provide better support to the business & also to learn new techniques in training.

As a trainer, you should be reading widely on training in HR magazines and books and following various HR/training websites for updates and insights into current and future thinking.

You also need to structure your Course Evaluation sheets to include questions that will give you an idea of what the trainees have thought about your training methods.

Finally, your assessment process to ensure the trainees have met the required standards and also to verify the effectiveness of the training should tell you if you are on the right track or not.

One of the things I like to do is, whenever possible, attend training courses run by other people. It is always interesting to see how other trainers work and often you can pick up a good idea or two.

Watch out also for free seminars being run in your local area. Sometimes there are seminars being run by real estate promoters, share trading schemes etc. Many are just high pressure sales pitches and at worst somewhat unethical. BUT, the point about these things is to go and study the presentation skills of the people running them. I can guarantee that you will learn something from these guys that will help you in your training sessions. Just don't get sucked in by their Hype!!

As Dinesh has said, most trainers are doing similar things. The question you need to ask yourself is simply, am I getting the required results. If you are, you know you are on the right track.
Dear Colleague,
Any training pedagogy which stimulates participant's thinking and imagination and essentially facilitates quality interaction is likely to result into learnings- new behaviors, paradigm shift or new thinking and to that extent can be regarded as very effective.
Remember old saying that if pupil has not learnt, then teacher has not taught.
In my view, any technique of training should be organic to the content and be capable of delivering the end purpose.
Instead of searching for 'latest' techniques from outside sources why don't we innovate and experiment with home grown new methodology?
This is just a trigger thought.

Creating an interactive online training module won’t be complicated as long as you choose the appropriate elements based on your objectives and audience. Let’s have a look at a few ways you can make online courses more interactive:
1. Incorporate an interactive element on each slide
An interactive online training program wouldn’t be one without the interactive elements. As a rule of thumb – especially if you are using slides/pages – include interactive elements on each slide or page, as much as you can. It doesn’t matter if it’s just a simple press of a button to make something pop up or a simple drag and drop activity. What’s important is that the learner has to take action to progress.
2. Use digital storytelling in your courses
Digital storytelling is a relatively new term that involves characterizing a person’s ‘story’ through digital means. Also, it is the users/learners who generate content for this approach. But, the most critical aspect of digital storytelling is that it invokes emotions.
3. Include Interactive 360° images / video
The use of interactive 360° video is also a welcome addition to any interactive training program. What this does is it allows the learner to look around the environment. Immersive learning experiences require the audience to take control of the learning environment – and this is definitely one way to do it!
4. Create a simulated environment where learners can freely practice
One of the most significant needs of learners is an environment where they can freely practice learned skills without fear of judgment or the dread of making mistakes. An interactive online training program that simulates a controlled working environment is exactly what learners need.
5. Devise branching scenarios
Branching scenarios put learners in-charge of how the entire course will go. Learners have the power to change the story’s direction based on choices they make at certain decision points. Each decision point affects the flow of the entire course.
Employee training is one of the most critical parts of the employee experience. When a new employee starts, they’re a sponge, ready to absorb information about your company, your policies and procedures, and their role and responsibilities. Existing employees also need ongoing training to learn new skills, improve existing ones and continue to grow over time. But what’s the best way to facilitate the training process?
Technological advancements have revolutionized the training industry, giving managers more training method options than ever. Companies now have access to all kinds of digital tools like training videos and computer-based training, and can still leverage tried-and-true methods like traditional classroom training. Trainers also have to bear in mind the 3 key learning styles; visual (learning by seeing), auditory (learning by hearing) and (learning by doing) learning. But with so many different options, it’s hard to know what’s right for your company and employees.
1. Instructor-led classroom training
2. Interactive methods
3. Hands-on training
4. Computer-based and e-learning training
5. Video training
6. Coaching and mentoring
