Hello ,
Currently I am doing my intern in an insurance firm , the project I would be doing is that of general profile. As of now I have prepared Motivation/ organisation culture questionnaires, Sales Manager skills analysis, Exit interview analysis. My guide wants me to do something that is innovative at the same time would not involve the cost factor. I did think about the attrition calculator since attrition is high in insurance sector. Kindly guide me with some other ideas wherein it could also be applied for my project work , as well as for the organisation.

You had covered good area.....what is duration of your intern and are you keen in doctrinal or non-doctrinal project.
The duration of my project is just for 2 months to be more precise from 2 may 2011 till june 27 , I did not understand by what you meant doctrine or non doctrine projects. But so far I have done lot of analysis , and questionnaire type of matter. I am worried later how am I going to club everything an then find a suitable title to it. Because I am happy that I am getting to learn at least some of the basic in the HR profile but yes kindly suggest me something else if i could add in my project soon.

You had done different projects there is no need of clubbing them together. You have to make one major projects and these will be supporting project. you must do need analysis in organization for your projects so that you work on project which add value to organization and enhance your learning. If there is no specific project from organization then you must work on project according to you which save time or money or energy or all of them for organization. Such as role of technology in HR process, synergy in various HR process, employee engagement etc... point is you must quantify your findings..... insurance industry require lots of manpower for there work...and HR is struck in hiring and closing the files there is lot to do.....

Thankyou for your replying to my post would try and find out what do I really need to work on. I did suggest my guide about usage of HR software, but then she said that they already have a software which is free of cost and is almost similar to the software which I had suggested. Later she did tell me to work on Employee Retention strategies which could be used- do you think I should make it as my major project then.
P.S- I am sorry if my post sound confusing its just that I want to do so many things but have less time and am confused how should I initally go forward to work on a certain project. Do reply back

I was also thinking about compensation and benefits as a project work , but my guide has tld me not to make use of questionnaire or ask employees since I have already done alot of analysis like that. I was thinking if I could research about the benfits provided bythe company , and try and compare it with its competitors. Again the problem here is that it is difficult to get the competitors information about the benefits they provide to their employees. reply soon
