Hi,
I want to know the gratuity calculation, I have worked for 5 years in company
Basic - 12000
HRA - 6000
Special Allowance - 8000
Medical - 1250
Conveyance - 800
PF- 1200
All amount mentioned are monthly amount as on today, and i have completed 5 years, can you tell me my Gratuity Amount

Dear Mr. RLDhingra
Detailed below is the how 4.81% works out as monthly contribution of gratuity in CTC.
Assume your basic salary for gratuity is 100/-
gratuity for one year is 100/26*15 = 57.69
gratuity for 1 month is 57.69/12 = 4.81
Yes this is as per the Payment of Gratuity Act.

Hi Seniors,
In my curent Organisation, Gratuity is part of CTC... every month, gratuity is being deducted & it is not paid to the employees if he/she resigns the Company before completion of five years.
PF is also part of CTC & if an employee resigns before completion of five years... then PF is payable. But why not gratuity is paid ?
For payment of gratuity, five years is a mandate but my point is - when gratuity is shown as part of CTC... then why should be mandate of five years there ?
Can you please guide me on this point ?
