Please explain what is the water pressure of fire hydrant and how the pressure is maintained while using?

Dear Hseofficer, yes as rightly said by manish,it is seven kg that we maintain in hydrant line. It is maintained by jockey pumps & desile pumps both by manual & auto mode. Regards, Hansa Vyas

As explained by Manish & Hansa Vyas, the pressure in the Fire Hydrant system has to be 7 kg/cm2.
This pressure is to be maintained continusouly by providing Jockey pump.
To maintain the pressure while using (use in case of a fire) the hydrant system, it has to be operated on main electric pump. You should have Diesel operated pump as a stand by arrangement to use in case of power failure.
This whole system has to be maintained in 'Auto' mode. However, 'Manual mode' is also to be provided for testing & maintainance of the system.

Dear All,
Fire Hydrant System Pressure depends upon the Industry Category as per TAC recommendations. For Light Hazards /Ordinary Hazard if you have hydrant outlets > 100 than 7 kg/cm2 pressure is enough but if it is greater than 100 than it should be 7 to 8.8 kg/cm2.
But if your company is in High Hazrard category (A) and you have hydrant outlets between 20 -55 than pressure should be 7-8.8 kg/cm2 and if outlets are between 55-100 than it should be 7-10.5 kg/cm2.

Dear Gopis,
Fire protection system continuously supply water until we close/reset the system. We stored enough liters of water in our fire tank as per NFPA standard/design. If water reaches the dead end in tank main pump will start automatically supply the water continuously, in some cases main pump shall failed, that time secondary pump its means jockey pump will start automatically supply the water continuously to FPS.
