Respected Seniors,

With due respect to your dedicated experience and achievements, i would be glad, if you could share your knowledge about "HOW TO ENHANCE MATURITY LEVELS in EMPLOYEES and STUDENTS".
as I am working on a module that could help "STUDENTS and EMPLOYEES to enhance their MATURITY LEVELS".

The only reason why i am working on this module is "I LOVE BRINGING POSITIVE CHANGES & INCULCATING GOOD HABITS IN INDIVIDUALS", as it has been a big challenge for me and i am really enjoying doing the same.

MATURITY is a MANDATORY FACTOR for one to progress and achieve SUCCESS in LIFE(PROFESSIONAL & PERSONAL). Its not included in our PERFORMANCE APPRAISAL SYSTEM. If this could have included as one the MEASURING CRITERIA, i am sure, we could have succeed in solving major issues at workplace associated with EMPLOYEES @ ALL LEVELS, including TOP MANAGEMENT.

I am sure MATURITY is deeply associated with CREATIVITY. i don't know, whether my perception or maturity level is low or.... as i want to comment that "Even MATURITY is lacking in many PROFESSIONALS".

Kindly do compare the EFFECT OF HIGH MATURITY LEVELS in PERSONAL and PROFESSIONAL LIFE.

You are request to post whatever information(questionnaires, e-books, articles) that could support this thread. This thread has nothing to do with ACADEMICS but associated with HUMAN PSYCHOLOGY and INDIVIDUAL EXPERIENCE.

I am sure, it is difficult to understand this thread, but, those who have understood, i am sure your maturity levels is/are far better than mine"

Kindly treat me as a FOOL(i doesn't know anything, even the meaning of MATURITY) and help me becoming me WISE(who wants to learn and progress, AGGRESSIVELY). Ofcourse, one may ask me, how can a fool, post such a interesting thread(i am neither boasting nor boosting myself)

I thank ALMIGHTY for blessing me with everything.......

NOTE: A student and juniors, can respond to my thread, provided that you understood "what you are going to post" before you click "POST QUICK REPLY"

With profound regards

Dear Khadir,

How to bring maturity in the students: -

Please remember, behind every arrow there is a bow and so is behind every student a good teacher.

To bring maturity among the students you need to have matured faculty. In most of the Engineering Colleges and B-schools faculties are quite inexperienced. In fact, when candidates' don't get a job anywhere else they end up becoming faculties. That is why we have a scenario, one who has never stepped into the HR department teaches HR and one whose feet never shop floor ends up in teaching Operations Management!

One of the reasons for this pathetic state is poor leadership at the education institutions. Most of the educational institutes are run by politicians. They run their enterprise as per their whims and fancies. These institutes are used for rehabilitating their cohorts who help them in canvassing during the elections.

To change this we need to bring legislative changes. No faculty in any professional institute should be below 35 years of age or should have at least 10 years of working experience.

How to bring maturity in the employees: -

Employees will become mature provided their business leader is mature. The business leaders in India are very very short-sighted. They don't have a vision to grow beyond the boundaries.

Most of the businesspersons start as proprietor. Later they make their company Private Limited and later Public Limited.

A howsoever large public limited company may it be most of the companies have MD's kith and kin on the board. If not persons with conjugal relationship, then persons of their own caste occupy chairs of the board. This very corporate caste-ism is detrimental to the growth of the company.

You have talked about creativity or performance that brings maturity. But then you need to have leadership who respects innovation and creativity. The kind of population we have, it should become the fountainhead of innovation or creativity. Nothing of that sort happens because leadership is a stumbling block of innovation and creativity.

How to bring maturity in the society: -

The maturity of the students or maturity of the employees depends on the maturity of society as a whole. Our education system does not foster scientific thinking. Of late, there is a craze to change the spelling of one's name to bestow good luck!

We had one soap opera "Kyo Ki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi". The soap ran for a decade. A country in which a trash soap of this kind runs for a decade then this speaks in itself the maturity of the society. Today this soap is not there but then it is replaced with a whole lot of similar TV serials.

Final Comments: -

Let us not worry about the maturity of society. True leadership lies in questioning oneself - what I have given to society. This is what Mahatma did and today Anna Hazare is also doing.

Ok...

This appears to be a mega project. To handle the project here are the requirements.
1.Your credibility-You are required to be at least a Ph.D. in any behavioural science preferably in psychology.
2.The Institution-You should be attached to an institution from where you can operate your project.
3.Funds-Organizations like UGC,ICSSR and Government of India can sanction grants
4.Surfing-Make a thorough internet surfing of "emotional maturity" and "social maturity".
5.Preparation of the project.prepare, submit and pursue to fund donor organization to release funds. However, if you have enough resources then you can you can launch the project with your own funds.
Best of luck.

Dear Shaik Abdul Khadir,

As usual, Dinesh has given you a detailed answer why Indian students lack "maturity" and how it can be overcome. Dr. Mahanta has probably thinks that you have taken up a long project to study and, hence, has given you advice as to how to go about it. It would be nice to know his views about the topic "Maturity of individuals, teams and Society at large".

I do not know much about it as it is a new topic for me. However, kindly see

Why is People Capability Maturity Model Necessary? and Whiteboards That Work!: Maturity Models found at Google

Sorry for giving links; I did not have the time to read and digest it all.

Have a nice day.

Dear Mr. Simhan,
Thank you for supporting my assignment. Will acquire, as much information as i can from your linked posted above.
Forgive me for posting my suggestions regarding your TIME MANAGEMENT, as you wrote that you didnt had time to read and digest it all,
1) We do have sufficient time to get our things done based on PRIORITY LIST,"
2) It is we who need to MANAGE OURSELVES within our TIME LIMITS but, no one can manage TIME because no one can control it.
3) Our PRODUCTIVITY depends upon MAXIMUM/EFFECTIVE UTILIZATION OF TIME MADE AVAILABLE TO US BY ALMIGHTY.
Its just my opinion as i had trained students and employees in the similar manners. Results were OUT STANDING.

Dear Khadir,
You are preaching to the converted. I have run session on time management to both students and industrial workers. I know we all have only 7X24s per week. I am otherwise tied up.
Have a nice day.
