Dear Nagarjuna,

First and foremost I would like to appreciate your keen interest to join in HR department and seeking bright future in your carrier. I understand according to your post that you don’t have any practical job experience, still you have knowledge in Payroll processing and statutory compliances like P.F & ESI. This knowledge indeed helps you to get good job. My suggestion is, try to pursue higher degree in HR, don’t end up your studies with B.com, go for MBA in HR from any reputed university then you will get more weightage in your field.

1. Apart from this join any small or mid size organisation in HR department though they offer lower salary. This will helps you to gain practical knowledge and hand on experience.

2. Do read more articles about recruitments process and employee compensation & benefits as per various Labour acts.

3. You need to keep on updating your skills as per present trend in HR field. To know what’s going on in present trend, need to read articles and interact with people in public forums like Cite Hr etc.

4. Lean ERP kind of software’s related to HR modules like SAP, Orcale, People Soft etc. This will facilitate you to get good job in your dream filed.

5. As a HR you should have good oral as well as written skills, hence you need to focus towards English as well.

6. At last in our Cite-Hr, there are many good articles & stuff related to recruitment, Employee compensations, benefits and Labour Acts. These all are really use full stuff especially those who are in HR field. Therefore do read all these stuff at your convenience time.

Apart above there are many ways to procure knowledge, it all depends on our planning and dedication towards goal. As we all are knew learning is a continuous process and it never ends up.

I wish you all the best.
