My husband is working with a semi government organization in Delhi.On March 25,2011 he had intimated his HR person to start deducting Rs 5000 extra per month towards his EPF. But the HR person refused saying it was not possible now as the last date of applying for same was March 8,2011 and now nothing can be done before March 2012.
Is there any way out for my husband to get his extra EPF deduction started this year itself?

For voluntary PF contribution (as it is referred to) there seems to be no date. You can do so at any time. Since the salary for March has already been processed, let him contribute from the salary of April onwards. Please advise him to give a letter to HR directing him to deduct @ Rs 5000 every month.
