Dear Seniors
Is there any law pertaining to Appointment letters/Terms of Employment?
This hotel I work for has never given its employees an appointment letter. They have always given offers letters and thats it. None of the employees ever asked for their appointment letter either.
I joined recently and since I joined the HR department I got the company to give me an appointment letter for my self with terms of employment and I make sure that new employees get it as well.
But I need to know if giving appointment letters is compulsory or does it depend on the company if they want to give one?

Appointment letter is a crucial part of the hiring process.
it is a legal document that plays a role of a written proof or confirmation that an organization has decided to appoint a candidate and that the candidate has agreed to work for the organization in return for pay. All the major rules of the organization, terms and conditions of the employment are listed in detail in an appointment letter.

Hi anu,
Before the appointment letter they will give offer letter for the candidate offer letter is nothing but whether candidate is joining or not ,manager will take the signature from the employee for the date of joining after at the time of confirmation they will give the appointment letter about the terms and conditions and annexure of the candidate , in appointment letter brief discussion about the salary.
