if, an interview asked to me that, what is professtional skill, do you have professtional skill then, how whould i answered
Dear Anjani,

There is nothing like professional skills per se. When a person executes a certain job, the job requires a certain skill set. The level of skills determine whether a person is professional or not. For example:

a) Keyboard skills, telephone skills etc would determine whether office secretary/receptionist is professional or not

b) Payroll accuracy would determine whether HR person who executed this job is profession or not

c) Avoiding situation of stock-out and avoiding inventory built up at the same time would determine whether a procurement person is professional or not

d) When labour inspector or officer visits company premises, how HR person deals with him would reveal whether HR was professional or not.

e) Drafting skills of a lawyer would determine level of his/her professionalism

f) Security person, how he handles the investigation would decide his professionalism.

Notwithstanding my above examples, you may note that professionalism does not depend on one single skill. It is output made of variety of skills. Ability to use the right skills, in the right degree, at the right time is the professionalism.

Thanks,

Dinesh V Divekar
