Hi Guys,
Can someone please tell me how come some companies do not deduct PF, gratuity n other deducions even when manpower is 2100 employees.
I work in a media company and only 200 rs professional tax gets deducted.
Please help...

(1) Saying 2100 is not enough, imp is what kind of employement is provided (oursourced, regular old is the company etc...)
If regular employement is provided I think company can become liable for imprisonment and/or penalty for this (if strength remains the same for more than a year. If they have crossed the minimum strength to come under statutory complainces this year only, they should register ASAP). HR or personnel manager should inform the employer and take initiative. Please read related acts in this site, there is lot of material. Do take help from any legal advisor.
(2) Professional tax varies from state to state but Rs. 200 or Rs. 250 should be right in your case for your state, whatever it may be. Please check your state's policy (google it) ( may be you can consult with some of your friends in other companies, how much amount is deducted from them)

I media company we do have same rules & regulations as per other organisation but the salary part is monitored by Wage Board of INS so you have to be aware of their regulations.

Dear All,
Please help me on this matter, from Last Mar13 onwards i am working in 1 of the Pvt ltd company, they deducted my PF from Apr13 till Mar14..and after April onwards they stopped deduction my PF and settled me the deducted PF amount for 1yr from Apr'13-Mar'14 by paying us in Cash. Neither they paid me the companies contribution towards PF Nor Interest for deducted PF amount.
In this case can i lodge complaint against PF office. Please advise and help me, as not only me affected we are more than 40 employees have been affected...

Dear Abhijit,
First of all, what does your appointment letter says. Does it says you are any employee or a consultant. Depending on the same the deductions will occur or not occur.
Also have you signed form 11 for PF when you joined the company. Most companies take this signed form and then based on the same the PF is not deducted.
Also are all the companies your your company rolls or most of them outsourced or on a different company role. This will also affect the salary statutory deductions.
