Pf query for contract labour
Dear friends our s is a manufacturing company in maharashtra not yet operational. however we have employed some 500 local people contract labour through 5 local contractors. these contractors do not have a permanent work order from us. also they have newly opened their contract enterprises as earlier they were doing some other jobs. now these contractors do not have a pf allotment code business no.. instead of giving pf allotment numbers to 5 contractors we thought of having 1 main contractor & under him we will put these 5 contractors which will be known as subcontractors. kindly inform regarding any legalities on this point ? i am supposed to visit pf commissioner very shortly as directed by my management. plz let me know the obstacles / queries here that can be asked ? request an early response. best regards shaunak marulkar 9423877450 pune

When do we need to take registration of company under contract labour act? at the time of construction?
Hi when do we need to take company rc under contract labour act. here there are two case. 1. five different contractors but having 1012 workmen each. 2. all contractors are far below 20 but total contractual workmen headcount is much beyond that. another query is that the rc taken for these contractors is temporary or permanent rc. kindly explain in detail.

Dear modi if you have to engage the contract labour then you must register your organisation / factory as an establishment under contract labour act for which you have to use form i. alongwith the form i you must submit a list of contractors you are planned to engage. whoever contractors name you have submitted while obtaining the registration certificate for them only you can issue form v. if you want to engage a new contractor then you have to submit for additional list of contractors whose name to be added on the register of contractors which is maintained at labour commissioner s office. as per central act if the workmen strength is less than 20 then the contractor is not required to obtain the license but for state it differs from one state to other. so you will have to refer the state rules to get the correct information.
Action against illegal strike of contract labour engaged by contractor
Good morning sir our company is a cpsu facing a illegal strike by contract labour union union by contract labour of all major contractors for demand of wage related matter which results complete stoppage of all construction activities. matters are pending before the rlc central. as the labourer are belongs to contractors employee what would be our action against the major contractors as they are not resolving the issues of their laborer by which our establishment facing serious financial problems.

Dear friends i have recently joined as hr in a manufacturing company in pune. my company as principle employer has five contractors with more than 20 workers working fulltime. my company have not yet got 'registration certificate' till now and hence none of the contractors have licence also. i want to get my company registered under the act and get 'registration certificate'. i also want to help the contractors in getting licence under contract labor act 1970. will you please guide me about the steps for each in detail along with the documentation required to be maintained by contractors principle employer and documents to be submitted to labour officer along with necessary attachment details. regards sapna
