I'm working in a metal trading company. One of our employees died because of a shock in our godown. However, this employee was on third party payroll.
My director wants me to frame a policy saying our company is not responsible for the same. how do I go ahead ?

Any such policy can not be absolving you of your responsibility. Even if a delivery boy comes and meets with fatality at your premises/ shop/ company, you would be covered under the regulations related to public liability and insurance. Hence you would not be able to frame a policy absolving you of your responsibility. At the most you may have certain indemnity clauses in the contracts with the third parties who are deputing the people to work at your end.
These indemnity clause offer a little security and if the third party is not able to discharge the legal obligations it would be your responsibility as a principal employer.
kind regards
