I am working for a manufacturing company. I have joined this very recently, one year back. One of the employees has been appointed as a workman with a date of birth in 1957. When we referred to his PAN card recently, we came to know that his actual date of birth is in 1952.

As such, we now discovered that he had submitted false information when joining the company. We have issued him a show cause notice, but he has not replied. Can we terminate his services immediately for providing false information during his employment, considering he was supposed to retire in October 2010?

Kindly advise.
