hi!, in case of Feburary you need to calculate the salary on 30 days a month basis. if emp. is not regular he/she will get benifit. means in case of leave is salary will deduct like Amount received=m.salary/30*no of working days.

Hi Dilip & Kammana.
In the month of February, the salary would be counted on the base of the total working days of that month.
Means the salary would be counted as
The amount*present days/Total working days = Net Salary
If the amount is of Rs. 10,000/-, Present days are 25 days, then the Calculation would be
10,000*25/28 = 8,928.57
The Salary Amount would be = Rs. 8,928.57

if you are calculating all the months with thirty then you have to calculate feb month with 30 if you calculate 31 days month by 31 & 30 days month by 30 then you have to calculate by 28 in feb month

Hi !
This depends on company policy. You calculate the salary either on 'calendar days' basis or on 'fixed' days basis. From your mail, I understand that you are calculating based on fixed days. So, you have to use 30days for Feb also.
The employee will benefit if there is an LOP in Feb; at the same time, employee will lose when there is an LOP in Mar, May etc.

Yes Mr. Abhishek z totally right. If comp z not paying 31 days(one day extra) salary, they can not pay/deduct 28 days(two days less) salary.

Dear dilip,
we will calculate 28 days salary but salary would be equal to 30 days for instance if my gross salary is 15000 i will devide from 28 days in feb so accordingly we do same with other month.

In this thread and in many other threads, HR people are worshiping the "Company's Policies" as the only Gospel for them.

This is a great misconception.

The Law is the only policy. The Company's Policies cannot override the provisions of the various laws under which the establishments govern. Rather the company's Policies must be in conformity with the law. Any Policy that is not within the purview of the law is ultra-virus abnitio.

Now comes the point of treating the Feb (in view of treating a month of 30 days) . Why this question was not raised for seven other months i.e., Jan, Mar, May, Jul, Aug, Oct & Dec.

It is a matter of common sense that the wages earned for that much days as much these are in a month. The rightful for both employee and employer is to get and pay the equatable amount as much earned in a particular month.

I don't understand what is rational on treating every month as a month of 30 days. By doing so the employer pay for 30*12=360 days only and saves money for 5 man days per person per year. This is against the law.

Dear Dilip A,
I am working as a payroll executive with Pharma Company,
we r calculate salary for example 10,000.00 per month
January (31 working day) 10,000.00 / 31 (working days in the month) X 31 Present Days (present days + W/ff + HL + leaves) = 10,000.00 his gross salary.
February (28 working day) 10,000.00 / 28 (working days in the month) X 28 Present Days (present days + W/ff + HL + leaves) = 10,000.00 his gross salary.
April (30 working day) 10,000.00 / 30 (working days in the month) X 30 Present Days (present days + W/ff + HL + leaves) = 10,000.00 his gross salary.
I think this is useful to you
thanking you
