for pf and ESI documentation you have to maintain salary and wagws register(form-14), PF you hav to maintain records monthly challan,Monthly return which include(Original copy of challans ,12A,Form-5 & From-10),And you hav to also maintain 3A,6A,9A for the current year of all employees.

I have to make these documents for Govt inspection as I have joined a company where PF has been implemented about one year back but there is no such documents have been maintained at the branch level.

For PF:
U have to maintain following form for regular complience
PF Challan for filling our PF Contribution
Form 12A Return of our PF Challan in PF office
Form 5 for newly recruted candidate
Form 10 for resigned person
Form 2 for nomination of candidate
Form 9 for submitting our employee detail to pf office
Specimen Signature Card for submitting authorised person's signature in Office
And at last Form 3A & 6A for annual return

Hi Neha,
Himanshu has been very precise in his communication. Yes, you would generally be required to maintain the documents listed by him and Form No: 13 [for pf transfer]. You can get all these forms/documents without any extra charge from the PF Office [except Form No: 12A] &/or you could buy them from anupam stationery, etc at a reasonable price.
