Dear All,
We have recently completed the Competency Mapping Exercise for our organisation.
We would now like to start the process for finding the gaps of employees in the current role and developing the gaps.
Would you have some inputs on how I could go about doing the same?

Hi there,

I assume by saying you have completed the Competence mapping exercise you mean you have done the following

Identified what are the generic competence required by the organization from the employees to acquire

Identified what are the Job Competencies i.e. as per position from the job descriptions of the employees

The next step is to identify the existing employee competencies give a rating for these competencies 1-5 or in %

Then compare between the required level of competence between the required and the existing

Then u need to do the training needs analysis so you can determine what is the required method of training or training course to close the gap between the existing and required competence.

When doing the training needs analysis you really need to consider all skills i.e. technical, soft, professional skills.

You might want to consider as well adding the academic qualification you might find employees who have the technical & soft skills but they lack academic qualification they need to be considered/ sponsored
