This site looks like HardCore HRs of indian boss's mentality?
I saw a posting how to make employees punctual at their meetings - somebody gone ahead of saying three late comings should be treated as one Casual Leave... HATE IT!!
Reminds me my early job in a orthodox instiution, which is full of fancy talks, and dirty politics, pure SPOONING ( chamcha giri) - who use punctuality is shown to point others, avoid paying bonuses..
Can we try to open up a little out of mud brains, be creative to such problems?

First of all you must be punctual to work place. If you punctual and regular to work, (it is discipline) you can learn the job. Once you are not regular and punctual you cannot expect others especially your subordinates to maintain punctuality.
If politics are running in your company means try to eradicate it or be away from it.
You can prove yourself by showing your efficiency in work. If your work efficiency is recognised there the so called politics will not work.
Chamchagiri will not work everywhere and at all times. Some times and in some places our output and efficiency only will speak louder than the CHAMCHAGIRI.
Can you spare some fools with degree who maintain punctuality and regularity for 2 years. I can make him to work and I can make his life in my company. (I can offer 7000 or 8000 per month only).

I completely agree with Mr. Bhaskar coz even i m working in the same enviornment, the eficiency and if u maintain the quality then no 1 can even dare to blame u. instead ur name will be taken as example whereever the requirement is.

Nice to see a leader coming and taking up bright ideas.But I will like to see how you will react and work as boss.
Its very easy to blame boss and system but its very hard to understand why the boss behaves as he is.

managingpeopleatwork site for the same "Punctuality issue" with open ideas,
All these so called "punctual guys" - did they ever show social concern on the way to public,
forget the public, one should walk on human rights of our home members to be on punctual, or isolate from them...
Or some slave ( lucky if its spouse) would be dying to serve you - including flushing your toilet in the morning...
Its not a suprise that this chauvinist behavior where equal responsibilities were never the theme of a day in life.
Also blame and force the community on which one has hold by looking at watch.... Dominating roads, breaking rules whenever possible...
I am not against Punctuality, but dont kill human concern on the way, just see as one of the sector in person's life, not the entire sector....
