Dear Respected Seniors,
I always appreciate citehr for the invaluable support and guiadnce during my career life.
This time too I want some suggestions for my work life...
I wanted some advice as to if any job in HR requires travelling...I am desperately looking for some change in my current profile. I am seeking something in HR where there is travelling involved (30-40%)..
Is there something like this ..If yes then in which area of HR and after what years of experience..can a fresher too get such profile..
And one more thing if I join as BDE (Business Development Executive) will it be into sales only..Can i have BDE in HR with some travelling involved.??
Please Guide me..
Your suggestions and advice would be highly appreciated..
thanksss

Mr. Bhatt,

Amount of Travel involved in your work purely depends on the profile you work with, functions you perform, areas / locations under your purview and above all the nature of the company.

In normal cases HR professionals are stationed at the corporate / regional offices and travel less for thier activities. This will depend on what his profile demands as to whether he is supposed to make routine visits to the branches / locations under his purview. The visits can also be for some exigencies or trouble shooting and varies from company to company and industry to industry. In the above mentioned cases i don't see any chances of 30-40% travel involved in your work.

Recruitment is one area of HR which needs continuous traveling depending upon the sourcing model of the company. If there is campus placements / walk-ins at different location /cities , you need to travel a lot. This might eat up to 70 - 80 % of your time. A company will not risk offering this profile to a fresher , as it involves expertise in taking people on board with short time for decision making. HR Professional with minimum 3-5 years of experienced will be an idea match for this profile.

Business Development in HR happens with Consultants offerering HR solutions to the companies. This profile may include lot of traveling, meeting people and closing business. This is an area of HRM which includes lot of travel and demands better level of experience . knowledge and expertise in HR.

Hope the info suffice your requirement
