This is just my second mail, I am relatively new to the group.
I am in charge of policy formation and revision of existing policies in an IT company.
What are the laws I should adhere to?
What is the procedure and basis for revision of existing policies?

I can't say much about legislative requirements as these are different in different countries. However, the following link provides some useful guidelines on writing policy. Hope it helps.
