Glad that things are moving in the right direction.
And coming to your 'thanks', I guess that's what this Forum is all about--Sharing experiences & knowledge. Right?
I would like to add one more comment after your last Posting.
Rather than focusing on "workers to follow instructions", suggest focus on "workers who appreciate the importance of cleaning". Pl notice the difference--though small, it makes a lot of impact in the long-run. There wouldn't be any necessity of giving instructions. This entails 'inculcating a 'sense of belonging' into the workers. To elucudate, would it take someone to tell YOU to do something @ home? You know the answer. Why? Because, you have a sense of belonging [& to an extent, a sense of responsibility--though I would rate 'belonging' higher].
One way you can do it is to involve outside professionals to appreciate the cleanliness--rather than insiders. That has more effect.

Yeh, I got your point, and ths is another thing which we are trying to achieve - feeling of belonging -. But actualy the chairman told me "if we can change the mentality of supervisors, then I can tell you we reached the point of success". And that's why I am only focusing at the mentioned point currently.
Of course I am paying attention to otherthings too, but giving the piriorityto the point mentioned above. We arer moving up one by one. First we discussed ideas and suggestions, second, are planning for a trainning to supervisors, and third is coming after few weeks. we are in planning level if I may say !

create leaders in work spot
make every day a 5 Minute 5S practice
you involve the top line managers first to begin with

Would you like to initiate a 5S project ? Suggest before you do that, google 5S and read a bit about it. You will need some more experienced help in the project but worth it. Regards H. Shankar

My advise is to make small small groups of workers on the floor & told him to keep clean their area. You can also appreciate them & display the name of best group on the notice board on daily basis.

Following are some of the suggestions.
1.Frequent ppt shows regarding cleanliness to workers.
2.divide ur workers into groups according to their working area,name them and organize a healthy competition for clealiness and give prize to the winning team and display it in the notice board.
3.and also prepare schedule for cleaning and make the teams also involved in cleaning

i suggest to announce that the salary increase and the bonus or incentives will be related to the appraisals, and the monthly appraisal contains many criteria , and one of this criteria is the clean of the person cloth , the working area around the person clean or not , the Uniform clean or not , he cleans the area of his working place after his finished his work or not .,,,,,,,,...............
and make the weight of this criteria about 20% or the evaluation of the appraisal.
you can make this appraisal on a monthly bases if your company workers less than 100 , if more than 100 to 1000 it may be done quarterly , if more it may be done in a semi annual bases.
Also you can criteria the employee of the month or of the department selection every month upon the above mentioned criteria, and suggest a prize by a cost 100 to 200 LE every month ( Mobile - Camera - TV 21 inc.- .......).
