EVP is the compensation given to the employee based on their contribution made, to achieve the ultimate goal or target of the management. This is fully based on the knowledge and skill posses by the employee, which he applies to achieve the predefined target or objective.
EVP has become one of the best offers made by the employer for talent retention.

Hi,
I beg to differ a little. Employee value proposition is just not what is being compensated for their contribution.
It is a bigger philosophy and a concept. It is all inclusive(wholesome) and aims at achieving optimum level of employee engagement.
It involves the challenges that attract the adventure in the employees, the rewards for taking the risk, the values around which the organizational life revolves and visibility of the path on which the career treads.
There are specific EVP models adopted by organizations based on their value systems and people vision.
Kind regards

Dear Radha Swami,

This is in addition to what Mr Dayanand L Guddin has said.

Employee Value Proposition (EVP) is offshoot of Customer Value Proposition (CVP). Concept of CVP was tossed by Edwin T. Crego and Peter D. Schiffrin in their famous book Customer Centered Reengineering (Jun 1994).

In the above book, they have talked about the concept of understanding the needs of the customer. There are four types of needs of customers viz. basic needs, expected needs, desired needs and unanticipated needs. Customer dissatisfaction is a result of non-fulfilment of these needs in the order given. Non-fulfilment of un-anticipanted needs may not result into dissatisfaction but their fulfilment helps in creating WOW effect.

Therefore, as a corollary EVP should talk about fulfilment of employee needs and not their contribution or knowledge or skills.

I appreciate other senior members comments as well.

Ok...
