Dear Member, An employee becomes eligible for gratuity after completion of 5 years of continuous service. Provided that you have got regularized employment in your company.

Dear Seniors,
I am in the payroll. I am getting EPF and ESI benefits. But I came to know that person who are worked continuously 240 days in a year is eligible for gratuity. is it correct? Our company is planning to take LIC group gratuity policy for workers and staff. But the LIC refused to put me under this scheme. Please can provide any documentary evidence for a person who is working 4 hours a day also eligible for gratuity.
Please clarify and send the evidence.
Thanks

Dear Batmanabane,
I think you have got confused for EL eligibility. An employee becomes eligible for leaves if he has worked for 240 days in the year. But one becomes eligible for gratuity only after completing 5 years of continuous service.
