Understand that from Oct 2009 there is change in the LWF Kerala .
But notification does not talk about whether it is increased from the existing rate of Rs.4 to Rs. 20 or it is additional to it.
Can anyone confirm this and share any document in this regard

There are a lot of welfare fund for workers in Kerala. Among these there exists a welfare fund for the employees of Shops and Commercial establishments to which all employers who come under the Kerala Shops and Commercial Establishments Act are suppose to contribute Rs 20 per month per employee. In variably, the employees should also contribute Rs 20 per month. That welfare fund has been in effect for the last couple of years.

Deduction of Rs 4 as per the old LWF is for half yearly basis. The new one for Shops employees is for monthly. If you have now been covered by the Kerala Shops and Establishments Workers Welfare Fund and the amount already deducted has not been remitted, then you can now deduct the balance and contribute the same amount and pay it. Remember that these are two different welfare funds.
