Dear Member,
If the State Labour Welfare Fund have provision on deduction of labour welfare contribution from the employees then it is compulsory to pay to the Fund. Different labour welfare schemes are being run by the State Labour Welfare Board from this fund for the benefit of workers/ employees.

Dear Mr. Khola,
Greetings.
I had a few queries regarding the Delhi Welfare Fund.
We are a company registered in Mumbai & have a branch in Delhi comprising of 15 employees, out of which 2 are at managerial level & the remaining are at executive level.
My question was -
a) what is the criteria of payment for employees... do we have to pay for all the employees (including managers & executives)
b) If yes... what is the amount per employee???
It is a little confusing as there are 2 amounts mentioned - 2.25 & 1.50 per employee.
Highly appreciate your response in this matter.

Dear Prerana,

According to the material available with me I would like to attempt this query as under:

All employees except those working in the managerial or supervisory capacity and drawing wages exceeding Rs.2500/- only per month are to be taken into consideration for deduction of LWF contribution.

As per Section 6BB of the Act, the components of the Labour Welfare Fund shall be contributions provided therein which are as follows: -

(a) Rs. 0.75 paise every six months per employee as stands on the register of establishment as on 30th June and 31st December every year respectively, as share of employee;

(b) Rs. 2.25 every six months per employee, as share of employer before the 15th day of July and 15th day of January every year; and

(c) Rs. 1.50 every six months per employee, as share of Govt. of Delhi as matching contribution, an amount equal to twice the employee's contribution. It will-be paid only on receipt of the statement in the prescribed format from the Welfare Commissioner of the Delhi Labour Welfare Board showing the total amount of employee's contribution and employer's contribution in respect of employees of each establishment.

Submitted as requested.
